Coronavirus/COVID-19 Pandemic Rental Assistance Available for Riverside County Tenants

Riverside County tenants may be eligible for up to $3,500 in rental assistance to rent during the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic.  United Lift, a rental assistance program coordinated between Riverside County, United Way of the Inland Valleys, and Lift To Rise, will administer $33 million in rental assistance between June and November 2020 to cover rent for Riverside County tenants.  Each household can receive up to $3,500 in rental assistance.  With a goal of keeping 10,000 families and Riverside County tenants housed, this laudable effort is sorely needed as Riverside County’s homeless population climbed 5% during the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic.

Where Do Riverside County Tenants Apply for Coronavirus/COVID-19 Pandemic Rental Assistance?

Riverside County tenants can submit rental assistance applications today.  To apply, complete an online application or dial 2-1-1 to apply by phone.

What Riverside County Tenants Are Eligible for Coronavirus/COVID-19 PandemicRental Assistance?

Riverside County tenants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Must be a Riverside County tenant with a lease agreement;
  2. Must be low-income to extremely low-income, which is defined as a tenant earning 80% or below the Riverside County area median income;
  3. Must document a loss of income and be unable to make rent payments due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 Pandemic.

How Does United Lift Select Riverside County Tenants for Coronavirus/COVID-19 Pandemic Rental Assistance?

Riverside County tenants that meet the general eligibility requirements are placed into a lottery. Lottery winners will receive Riverside County Coronavirus/COVID-19 Pandemic Rental Assistance.
